Strengthening Scope 3 Emissions Reporting with Watershed
Scope 3 emissions are often the most complex part of an organisation’s carbon footprint, particularly for businesses operating within global supply chains. For Workwear Group (WWG), Scope 3 emissions represent the majority of total emissions (~99% in FY25). Purchased goods and services make up approximately 65% of its Scope 3 inventory. To strengthen emissions visibility, analytical capability, and reporting efficiency, WWG implemented Watershed as its central carbon accounting platform.

What is Watershed?
Watershed is a sustainability AI platform that helps organisations measure, report, and manage carbon emissions.
The platform consolidates financial, operational, and supply chain data into interactive dashboards, supporting:
- Carbon accounting across Scope 1, 2, and 3 (noting WWG only uses Watershed for Scope 3)
- Audit-grade ESG and regulatory reporting
- Emissions hotspot identification
- Environmental data management
- Decarbonisation planning
- Supplier engagement
Unlike static reporting tools, Watershed provides granular data and interactive insights, helping Workwear Group better understand emissions across the value chain.

Why WWG Implemented Watershed
Previously, WWG relied on third-party consultants and Excel-based emissions inventories.
While compliant, these inventories were static, complex, resource-intensive, and limited ability for analysis and drill down into data. With Watershed, we have significantly greater control and visibility over our emissions data and calculations. We can generate an initial carbon footprint in minutes, with review and refinement typically completed in weeks rather than months. As a result, we can run calculations more frequently and free up capacity to focus on interpreting the results and acting on what the data is telling us.
By implementing Watershed, WWG transitioned to a centralised, interactive platform capable of integrating procurement, logistics, and operational data.
This shift significantly improved emissions visibility and reporting efficiency.
"We're glad to support Workwear Group in measuring, understanding, and taking action against their scope 3 emissions. Traditionally one of the major challenges of corporate sustainability, scope 3 measurement is made easier with our purpose-built sustainability AI, designed to get companies like Workwear Group to impact, faster."

Impact & Future Focus
Watershed provides WWG with improved visibility of Scope 3 emissions and supports a more structured reporting process, as well as the opportunity to shift to activity-based calculations.
Looking ahead, key focus areas include:
• Greater integration of supplier emissions data
• More granular product footprint insights
• More informed decarbonisation planning
Moving forward, Workwear Group will continue advancing emissions transparency and accuracy, supporting more informed sustainability and decarbonisation decisions.
